Studio Kairos designs and produces transformative events, conferences, and live experiences. With a newly designed logo and website, I was approached to give the logo mark the right kind of motion to enhance the visual identity's high-end and polished feel, as well as focus on the idea of creating transformative experiences.
These were the details we hashed out before I began the project.
- animate the Studio Kairos logo (looping and non-looping) to make the "Studio Kairos" brand more dynamic and engaging
- animation will be designed to enhance the visual identity's high-end and polished feel, as well as focus on the idea of creating transformative experiences
- consideration taken to deliver a solution that can be used in a variety of places and scales (primarily for the website header, secondarily social media, thirdly video intro/outro)
Rough Animation Sketch
I took one of the sketched ideas and made a rough sketch animation in Photoshop.
After this version, it was decided that the final version of the design would have the diamond bounding box and the small logotype at the bottom.
I went through many iterations that resulted mostly in small tweaks to get to the final version.
The diamond animating from the corners to the middle of the line to draws your eye to the point where the K animation ends.
All movement is intentional and smooth to give a classy, serious and professional tone.
Since the K mark is not a fully literal K, it made sense that while it is animating in, you don't know what it's going to form until it's almost complete.
Studio Kairos comes in super smooth after the diamond and K finish so that your eye has time to follow to the bottom. Each letter animates in from custom locations for the most elegant appeal.
